Welcome to a friendly day of Lard related games hosted by Sarisbury Green Wargames Club.
Tickets are selling like hot lard, if we sell out please sign up to the Wait List and we might try and squeeze in some more games.
The event is on Saturday 24th January 2026 at Sarisbury Green Community Centre, The Green, Sarisbury Green, Southampton, SO317AA.
This is about 5 minutes from Junction 9 on the M27, and just off from the A27 (see below FAQs below for more travel and accommodation options).
For those coming in from awkward locations it may be possible that we can arrange pick ups from nearby railway stations, Southampton airport or ferry terminals in Hampshire. Please ask and we will try our best!
During the day we aim to host two TFL games on each table, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The venue has been hired from 08.00 and people putting on games should be able to unload and start setting up from then. We have hired two rooms and have access to a small kitchen area for making teas and coffees throughout the day. In the large room we will have space for 8 games and we have also hired a smaller room with space for 2 games.
We would ask you to arrive between
We are aiming to go out for food and drinks in Park Gate at The Talisman pub. This is a 3-4 mins drive away along the A27 towards junction 9.
We are aiming for up to 12 games this year. If you put on a game for the day you get one or two free tickets per game for the runners (let Mark know for a discount code).
When you sign up you can choose your first, second and third choices for games. During the day you will get a chance to play two games. We won’t be able to guarantee everybody gets their first choice of games but would hope to facilitate it so that everybody gets to play at least one of their top three choices.
All games will provide the figures and terrain you need and will have a GM/ Umpire/ Facilitator. Each game will normally have 4 players, although some may be slightly larger or smaller depending on numbers. All you need to play is enthusiasm, although bringing your own tape measures and dice is always helpful.
Having played before is not essential and the idea is you ‘come and have a go’ with a ruleset you are perhaps unfamiliar with.
Make a note of which game numbers you are interested in as you can choose them when you order your ticket.
Please sign up here and you will be asked to choose your top 3 choices of games. We will try our best to give you 2 of those 3 choices, but will try to get back to you if some become oversubscribed very early on.
We will be running it on a first come first served basis.
If you have any questions please drop us an email to markbackhouse29@gmail.com and we try and help.
We look forward to seeing you on the 24th Jan 2026 and come and 'ave a go if you think you're LARD enough!
