A workshop series & discussion circle where film lovers come together to explore the work & cultural impact of Black women on screen.

Coffee & Conversation is a workshop series and discussion circle where Black women and femmes come together to explore the life, work, and cultural impact of a different Black actress each session. These gatherings serve as both a space for artistic appreciation and a deeper examination of how representation in media shapes and reflects our lived experiences.

Each session focuses on one actress and analyzes her body of work, public persona, and the societal narratives surrounding her. Through guided conversation with esteemed academics, multimedia clips, and creative reflection, participants engage in open dialogue around the intersections of gender, race, class, and identity in Hollywood Cinema history.
