Join us at the Coastal Cultures Conference 2026 for some R&R. We will engage in dialogues about restoration and resilience.

The 2025 Coastal Cultures Conference will center on historic St. Helena Island, SC and journey to to the Port Royal Sound and May River in Beaufort County, SC. This annual conference hosted by the Gullah/Geechee Sustainability Think Tank brings together a wide variety of diverse environmental leaders focused on ensuring not only the sustainability of the coast and our waterways but also the cultural heritage of communities such as that of the Gullah/Geechee Nation. This year, the event will include a coastal adaptation and sustainability tour on the South Carolina coast, the Bluffton Gullah Cultural Heritage Center, Gullah/Geechee Party with a Purpose, Gullah/Geechee Living Marketplace and the annual Coastal Culture Circle of Engagement.

The Gullah/Geechee Nation is engaged in a number of successful initiatives to heal, protect and sustain the southeastern coast. Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation and representatives of the collaborating organizations that are participating in these projects will present throughout the conference activities on Friday and Saturday.

NOTE: We reserve the right to ensure the safety of all participants and to decide who will be admitted to the Coastal Cultures Conference. Therefore, all that register will be vetted before fully being confirmed as attendees to this event. Do not book travel to the event until you have been fully confirmed.
