Learn the fundamentals of classic braking systems, with hands-on guidance on removal, refitting and diagnosis of both disc and drum brakes. This workshop explores different calliper types, common wear faults, hydraulic systems and safe bleeding techniques.
What you’ll cover:
🔧 Disc brakes: Removal and refit of disc brake systems
🔧 Callipers: Single piston floating callipers and twin-pot callipers
🔧 Pad wear: Understanding common faults and uneven wear
🔧 Drum brakes: Removal and refit
🔧 Springs: Safe spring refit techniques
🔧 Hydraulics: Load-apportioning valves, split systems and auto cut-offs
🔧 Bleeding: Standard bleeding and bleeding with auto cut-offs
By the end of the workshop, you’ll be confident in safely removing, refitting and diagnosing classic brake systems.
Prerequisite: Completion of the 2-day Care for Your Classics course.
