The ARC presents this special screening of Aaron Sorkin and David Fincher’s 2010 hit, The Social Network. Researchers from the University of Glasgow look back at the early days of social media to discuss how things have changed.

With a panel discussion led by the University of Glasgow’s new Information Integrity Research Network, we’ll reflect on the film’s themes of power, influence, and connection, and consider what they reveal about misinformation and trust in the digital age.

Our panel will consist of the following contributors:

  • Cllr Greg Hepburn- City Convenor for Open Government

As Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg creates the social networking site that would become known as Facebook, he is sued by the twins who claimed he stole their idea and by the co-founder who was later squeezed out of the business.
