Christ Pictured

It has been said that art is ‘theology in pictures’. We will look at a selection of paintings of Christ, taking in his birth, passion, crucifixion and resurrection. Hopefully we will discover how art can provide us with new insights into what are often over-familiar gospel stories. There will be plenty of quiet time for personal prayer and reflection.

No prior knowledge of art or art history is required.

Revd Mark James is a retired Anglican Priest. He is a Spiritual Director, a member of the Chaplaincy Team at Pleshey and a Tutor on the Chelmsford Diocese Spiritual Companionship Course.
