Art, horse, feng shui and tea ceremony - afternoon with a collector and an artist

Part of our East meets West series, where we learn to deciper different artistic traditions in order to truly enjoy them.

In the west, collecting is often described as obsession or compulsion. In Chinese tradition, it is understood very differently.

Before Chinese New Year, we meet inside the private space of a Chinese art collector and the artist.

what brings people into art: obsession, discipline, destiny?

How is collecting connected to status, lineage, luck, and responcibility?

we will review a private art collection focused on the horse, a key symbol in anticipation of the Year of the Red-fired Horse.

what to expect:

- a private viewing of a Chinese art collection;
- a meeting with Zhi Dong Zhang - artist actively studied and collected in China,
- a conversation on collecting, symbolism, and cultural logic;
insights from the collector, including Feng Shui perspectives for the coming year;
- a traditional tea ceremony.

This format happens once a year only.
places are limited.
