This is a 10-week course in Charm Classical Chinese Dance which has a unique identity and style, with refined and sophisticated characteristics.

Whether you’re a complete beginner with no dance experience, an enthusiast eager to deepen your skills, or someone from any country, profession, or age group—this immersive Oriental dance journey awaits you!

Core Highlights

Culture & Technique Integration: More than just dance training, this course is rooted in traditional Chinese culture and philosophy. From basic movements like "lifting, sinking, surging, leaning" to the six core dimensions of body rhythm ("essence, key, foundation, power, realm, imagery"), you’ll understand the spiritual connotation of classical dance while practicing, inheriting Chinese aesthetics.

Personalized Tiered Teaching: Customized training plans based on your skill level. From breaking down movements to presenting complete works, progress step by step—beginners can keep up easily, and advanced learners can achieve breakthroughs.

Practical & Diverse Modules: No abstract learning! The course includes three key parts: body rhythm combination practice, thematic workshop experience, and final dance choreography. You’ll participate in the entire process from "learning moves" to "performing works".

Start with 8 core basic movements to strengthen body control and rhythm perception; explore the 6 core dimensions of body rhythm to build a comprehensive understanding; integrate theory with practice through combinations, workshops, and final dance rehearsals.

Time: Monday 17:30-19:00

Venue: Room 253, Richard Hoggart Building, Goldsmiths

Target Audience: Dance lovers from all countries, all ages, and all professions (no prior experience required—passion is all you need!)
