WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF OFFICE YOGA?
By improving your blood circulation, you get refreshed mentally and your concentration will improve for the rest of the day. Forget coffee, the solution is a combination of movement and mindful breathing. The deep, steady breathing that characterizes yoga stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps you relax and get out of the “fight or flight” state caused by stress. Keeping your busy calendar in mind, office yoga can do wonders in as little as 30 minutes. You don’t have to get changed as you can practice in a business casual outfit.
Yoga can have a positive influence on one’s ability to reduce stress, increase focus, and embody confidence. As a workplace, all these things can lead to higher productivity and a more harmonious work environment. Overall, offering yoga sessions at work is a low-cost solution to many of the largest employee-related costs of doing business. For companies wanting to relieve workplace stress, reduce health care expenses, and create a work culture that places emphasis on mental and physical well-being, implementing yoga classes is the simplest and one of the most cost-effective ways to do so!
Think of your body as a building, an architectural marvel designed to work with the force of gravity such that no one structure is over-stressed. In the physical world, an architect has to take these same laws of gravity and weight distribution into account when they design a building. And like a building with a poor foundation a body with poor posture is less resistant to the strains and stresses we experience over the months and years of life.
