Ceramics: Hand Building Workshop (Jan: Afternoons or Evenings)

THIS WORKSHOP IS 4 CLASSES THAT MEETS ON CONSECTUIVE TUESDAYS. YOUR PURCHASED TICKET IS GOOD FOR ALL FOUR CLASSES. SELECT AFTERNOON OR EVENING WHEN CHECKING OUT.

Afternoon Sessions meet from 1-3:30pm

Evening Sessions meet from 6-8:30pm

Join artist Natty Moss Bond for a four-part Ceramics Hand-Building Workshop at SHAMc. This hands-on class is perfect for both beginners and experienced makers. Each week focuses on a different technique and project, from pinch pots to mugs to glazing. All materials are included.

Week 1 - Concept: Intro to clay, hand-building processes, slab and texturing techniques

Project: Push Pots and/or pinch pots

Week 2 - Concept: Clay attaching processes, clay stamping, texture pressing, bisque firing, information and surface finishing, and functional hand-building

Project: Mug, cup and/or vase

Week 3 - Concept: Intro to glazing and under-glazing, surface design, clay folding and final firing information

Project: Folded bowls and glazing

Week 4 - Concept: Continued glazing techniques

Project: Finish up all existing projects

Once you have completed this 4 week session, you have met the prerequisite for Open Studio Ceramics at SHAMc. Open studio is a weekly drop-in for $15 per hour, which includes all material, clay, glazes, tools, etc, and firing.
