Hyannis Film Festival presents its fifth consecutive late winter March movie series in Hyannis, at Hyannis Arts Hall performing arts center. This year’s program highlights leading men who’ve been honored with multiple awards for their superb acting, along with notable men and women behind the scenes. The lead actors, as well as others who helped create these films, are lions of the movie business in our time. During this month with the annual Academy Awards, these actors and moviemakers are past multiple nominees and winners of top awards.
All four films portray leading men struggling with their pasts, aging and disillusioned, tangled up in crime, murder mysteries, or international intrigue. They’re flawed antiheros seeking redemption and transformation.
The movies show on the four consecutive Fridays in March, at 7 pm. Admission is $15, in the new screening room at Hyannis Arts Hall, 81 Willow Avenue, in downtown Hyannis. Seating is limited to 45, with advance general seating tickets available now on eventbrite.com. Light refreshments available. Each contains adult-level content, with profanity, violence and sexual situations. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
Hyannis Arts Hall can be found in the Historic East End, off Center Street across from the Hyannis Transportation Center on Willow Avenue, facing Centerville Cleaners and the old P&B bus terminal. A gated walkway, on Main Street at the east end of the Federated Church of Hyannis, leads to Hyannis Arts Hall. A Google location search gives excellent driving routes. Limited on-street and off-street parking available at the building. Contact: Bill Ferrall, managing director, 508-228-8535.
