Session 1:
Boisterous Play for Girls and Boys
This new course explores boisterous play, not as negative behaviour but as a vital development process supporting children to test and develop their own physicality. This course aims to put some of the thrill and boisterousness back into play. Children are constantly being told to not to be so rough and yet by restricting this type of play, we are in danger of limiting some very important developmental processes. This course highlights the importance of rough and tumble and boisterous play and demonstrates a series of incremental activities to increase rough and tumble play in play settings.
This course is ideal for any setting wishing to make play moe exciting and is especially valuable for settings where older children may appear bored with everyday activities which my impact on their behaviour.

Session 2:
Building Giant Cardboard Creations
What’s this? A giant sinister shape stalking across the setting? Oh no it’s a giant cardboard monster! This workshop gives tips and tricks for building enormous creations out of cardboard boxes and assorted scrap. Learners will use simple techniques and ideas for building huge artworks out of cardboard which as well as being massive fun can be the starting point for a whole range of additional creative play opportunities. Be prepared to have fun!
