A Psychiatrist's Perspective on Cannabis, Mood and Anxiety Disorders: What the Latest Science Means for your Clinical Practice

You will be a part of 6 hours of training and a free lunch if registered for both conferences. There will be separate CE certificates issued for each workshop.
Workshop Overview: This two-part presentation explores the evolving landscape of mental health care. The first section will examine cannabis and mental health, highlighting the latest medical findings, risks, and clinical considerations — including critical insights often absent from popular dispensary narratives. The second section will provide clinical updates on mood and anxiety disorders, reviewing evidence-based treatments for depression, PTSD, and anxiety disorders. Dr Linton will review the evidence-based treatments for Treatment Resistant Depression including TMS, ECT and Ketamine discussing their risks, benefits and limitations. Due to the recent interest in Psilocybin in mental health care she will review the state of Psilocybin research and clarify its current status in psychiatric practice.
This will be an interactive program, and participants are encouraged to bring clinical cases for discussion.

About the Presenter: Anne Elizabeth Linton, MD (she/her) is a double board-certified General and Addiction Psychiatrist with more than 30 years of clinical experience, informed by her own journey in recovery. She earned her MD from Case Western Reserve University. After initial training in orthopedic surgery and emergency medicine, she completed her Psychiatry Residency at the Cleveland Clinic. She is certified in Addiction Medicine through the American Society of Addiction Medicine and holds an active Oregon Medical License. Her background also includes research in musculoskeletal stem cell regeneration, coursework in exercise physiology, and work as an endurance coach and personal trainer.
Dr. Linton has served in leadership roles as Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director at the Betty Ford Center, Chief of Psychiatry and Medical Director at Springbrook Northwest (now Hazelden Betty Ford), and in a variety of inpatient and outpatient psychiatry and addiction medicine settings. She has also practiced in urgent care, emergency medicine, and as a flight Physician. She has worked as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Loma Linda University and Oregon Health & Science University, she has taught and lectured internationally on addiction, dual diagnosis, and physician well-being. She is an active member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association, and the Oregon Psychiatric Association. Her volunteer work includes serving as Team Physician for intellectually disabled athletes world games, ski patrol and has served on the Board of Directors of The Mt Bachelor Sports Education Foundation as well as medical consulting for the Oregon Bike Racing Association. Currently based in Bend, Oregon, Dr. Linton provides psychiatric and addiction treatment through Deschutes County Behavioral Health, Telecare–Deschutes Recovery Center, and Recover Together Bend. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, cycling, teaching at the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center, and spending time outdoors with her golden retriever, Pixel.

**A $35 cancellation fee will be assessed for all cancellations. Registration fee will not be refunded for dissatisfaction with the training or for no-shows.
