Broken Spines: A Weird Fiction Book Club in Cambridge

Join us on the last Friday of each month to delve into the subversive world of weird fiction. We will be reading a mixture of genre staples from supernatural stalwarts like Edger Allen Poe and M.R. James to the more contemporary contributions of Sayaka Murata and Julia Armfield. For our inaugural event, we’ll be discussing Edger Allen Poe’s classic stories ‘The Tell-Tale Heart’ and ‘Masque of the Red Death’.

Due to the transgressive nature of the genre, some titles may contain upsetting themes. We will endeavour to provide a list of content warnings prior to each meeting.
