Join us for a joyful and inspiring afternoon of reading, creativity, and connection at our Books & Brunch with Kids—a two-hour literary experience designed just for young readers and their grown-ups. This special edition of Books & Brunch is extra exciting because we’ll be brunching with children’s author Victoria R. Watkins!

As always, families can expect engaging storytime, interactive discussion, and a relaxed brunch atmosphere that makes reading fun and accessible. This month, kids will also get the chance to learn directly from Victoria Watkins as she shares her books, her journey, and encourages children to dream big and see the world as full of possibilities.

About the Books

Victoria Watkins is the author of the Little Valarie and Her Big World children’s book series, written for readers ages 4–9.

• Little Valarie and Her Big World of Options
  This story follows Valarie, a curious and enthusiastic young girl who loves learning—especially numbers. When she asks her teacher what she can be when she grows up, she’s introduced to a wide range of exciting career possibilities. Valarie begins to see the many options the world has to offer—and realizes they’re all within her reach.
• Little Valarie and Her Big World of Art
  In this adventure, Valarie explores art class and discovers just how expansive and exciting the world of art can be. Through curiosity and creativity, she learns how her interests connect to future possibilities, inspiring young readers to imagine their own paths.

Together, the Little Valarie series encourages children to dream boldly, explore their interests, and understand that there are many ways to shape their future.

Pricing Options

• $10 per child – Includes brunch + one pre-selected children’s book
• $30 per child – Includes brunch + a signed copy of one of Victoria Watkins’ books
• $15 per adult – Brunch included (no book)

Adults are welcome—and encouraged—to brunch alongside their little readers and share in the experience.

About the Author

Victoria R. Watkins is a Chicago-based attorney, entrepreneur, and author specializing in business, creative industry, and legislative law. She is the Founder and Managing Partner of Inrichmint, a firm focused on curated investment opportunities, and previously served as Chief of Staff to the Co-CEO and Chief Investment Officer at Ariel Investments, the nation’s oldest minority-owned asset management firm.

Victoria has also held senior roles with the City of Chicago and remains deeply engaged in civic, nonprofit, and creative work. In addition to her legal and advisory career, she is the creator of the Little Valarie and Her Big World children’s book series and owner of Joy & Magic, a curated tea line. She serves on multiple nonprofit boards and is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and DePaul University College of Law.
