Books and Burlesque

We are excited to celebrate spring with activist biographies, murder mysteries and sexy performers! Featuring authors reading excerpts from their books: Mary Anne Trasciatti "Elizabeth Gurley Flynn: The Rebel Girl, Democracy, and Revolution" (biography), Dr. Ethelene Whitmire "The Remarkable Life of Reed Peggram" (biography) Cleyvis Natera "The Grand Paloma Resort" (novel), David Fishkind "Don't Step Into My Office" (debut novel), and Kevin Nguyen "My Documents" (novel).

Each author has been paired with a spectacular burlesque or drag performer who will be creating new acts inspired by the books they read! Starring Mizzaddy, Rosie Tulips, Chestnut Belafonte, and Saida Exit. Produced and hosted by Fortune Cookie.

Our local bookstore partner, Book Club Bar (197 East 3rd Street) will be selling signed copies of all our featured authors books.
