Kick off Winter Waters and the Blue Foods Forum at the Seafaring Speakeasy. Join fellow ocean advocates to drift through a kelp forest of flavors, where Oregon’s coastal bounty takes center stage.
This curated ocean-centric event is designed to inspire, delight, and invite connection in an iconic venue at the heart of Portland, Oregon, one of the top culinary cities in the nation.
Throughout the night, you’ll encounter ocean-inspired art installations, thoughtfully crafted bites, and conversations that spark possibility — connecting you with scientists, impact investors, food producers, educators, fishermen, artisans, and chefs redefining what it means to steward Oregon’s economy through food and ocean resources.
Blue Foods Forum is the annual flagship event of the Oregon Ocean Cluster, a cross-sector collective impact network with a mission to create a thriving local blue food economy in Oregon. This event is produced in collaboration with the Oregon Coast Mariculture Collaborative and Winter Waters, a regenerative seafare culinary and education series that takes place each year during the month of February.
At the Speakeasy, guests will get access to the Redd for an elevated evening full of ocean-centric art, food, and experiences – and an opportunity to connect with all the folks working on incredible projects aimed at strengthening our regional food systems.
Get ready to sample an array of outstanding drinks and Oregon-caught seafood prepared by world-class Oregon chefs and tastemakers including Maylin Chavez of Nacar Oysters, Jack Strong from Allison Inn, Jacob Harth, from former PDX hotspot Erizot, and Joseph Papas of OK Omens. In addition, we are excited to welcome back Chef Patrick Clarke and the Siletz Valley School culinary team to celebrate Oregon's amazing coastal ecosystems in this second year of the Blue Foods Forum.
New this year! Oregon's Food & Beverage scene is full of talented and creative partners who are passionate about blue foods. Enjoy meeting a very fun line-up of Oregon food brands and the OSU Food Innovation Center team, who will all be sampling delicious products that feature Oregon coastal ingredients.
