Come discover the magical world of birds!

Join us for a morning walk to explore the world of birds and birdwatching while out on the trail. You will learn to identify a variety of species that visit our local natural areas while using binoculars, field guides, apps, and of course, our own eyes and ears. We’ll also discuss the vital role that our wild spaces have in protecting avian diversity and how we can continue to provide habitat that is crucial for species' survival. There will be ample opportunity for Q&A, so bring your burning bird questions and your enthusiasm for all things bird related.

Please Note: Graham Nature Preserve is currently closed to the public.

What to Expect: This event will take place outdoors. There is a restroom on site. This event is recommended for ages 10 and up (participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).

Where to Meet: Follow the long gravel drive, veering to the right at the barn. Parking is available in the gravel lot.

What to Bring: Bring binoculars if you have them. A small notebook, pen/pencil, and a smartphone for app instruction are recommended. If you have a field guide that you prefer to use, feel free to bring it along. Dress appropriately for the weather, including rain/snow layers and waterproof boots. Bring water and a snack.

Event Leader: Sarah Gotwols, Interpretive Ranger with Lancaster Conservancy and resident bird nerd, is a Lancaster County native who has spent countless hours observing birds in their natural habitat along the Susquehanna River.

Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.

Animal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home.

Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation a day in advance for severe weather. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email and refunded.

Thank you to our generous annual sponsors for making this event possible!
