In this hands-on course at the HudsonAlpha Institute, you’ll master essential lab skills, including aseptic techniques to prevent contamination, lab safety, and how to use a micropipette. Dive into the fundamentals of wet lab research as you explore lab math, create solutions and media, and culture bacteria. Designed to prepare you for advanced lab training and experiments, this immersive experience will give you a head start in biotechnology and scientific research.

12-hour course: Monday , March 16 - Thursday, March 19

Taught by Michele Morris, PhD - Director of Workforce Development at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology.

Eligibility and Tuition:

  • Eligible to 9th-12th graders
  • $150 tuition is due in full upon registration.

Refund Policy:

  • Registration cancellations and refund requests must be submitted in writing to edoutreach@hudsonalpha.org.
  • Participants may receive a full refund (minus applicable processing fees) on the cost of their registration provided that a written request is received no later than fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the program start date.
  • No refunds will be issued less than fourteen (14) days prior to the program start date.

Prior to registering, please review our Lab Safety Contract, Waiver and Release/Emergency Contact, and Media Release Forms. These are required to participate and will be included on the registration for signature.
