The Best Adapted Book Club is led by Sammi Snow. We read the books behind the movies, before they hit the big screen this Oscar season!

The Best Adapted Book Club focuses on books on their way to becoming award-season films. March's pick is Project Hail Mary, from the #1 bestselling author of The Martian comes Andy Weir's wildly inventive, surprisingly funny sci-fi adventure about a lone astronaut who wakes up millions of miles from Earth... and can't remember why. The film is set to be released on March 20, 2026 and stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace.

We will meet in person in the loft at our store at The Mark, 117 S. Pineapple Ave. The book club is $22, which is the cost of your copy of Project Hail Mary to be picked up at Bookstore1 any time before our meeting.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Andy Weir built a two-decade career as a software engineer until the success of his first published novel, The Martian, allowed him to live out his dream of writing full-time. He is a lifelong space nerd and a devoted hobbyist of such subjects as relativistic physics, orbital mechanics, and the history of manned spaceflight. He also mixes a mean cocktail. He lives in California.
