Bartók and Sibelius

The Academy of St Mary-le-Bow take to the stage at The Duke's Hall with an evening of dramatic 20th-century orchestral masterpieces. Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra will be performed alongside Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5 in E-flat major: two landmark 20th-century works, which when paired together highlight the uniqueness of each composer's musical language, while both being deeply rooted in the folklore and mythology of their homelands.
