A New Play by Edward “Teddy” Hall with Martin Challinor
Directed by Martin Challinor
Baby Boy is a raw, poetic exploration of memory, control, and survival.
Set inside a childhood home where the past refuses to stay buried, the play follows Freddy as he returns to confront the people and forces that shaped him — a mother both intoxicating and destructive, a father who looked away, a man whose influence lingers beyond death, and a first love who offers the possibility of something honest and whole. As time fractures and reality bends, Baby Boy traces how trauma lives in the body, how power disguises itself as love, and what it takes to finally let go.
This production marks a reunion between playwright Edward “Teddy” Hall and director Martin Challinor, continuing a long-standing collaboration rooted in intimate, actor-driven storytelling.
Nonlinear, emotionally charged, and unflinching, Baby Boy asks:
What happens when the past won’t release you — and what does it cost to choose your own future?
