The Mission

The Avalon and Regal Theater brand have long stood as cultural icons in Chicago — amplifying legendary voices and unforgettable performances.

Now, we are restoring and reactivating that brand — not just as a theater, but as a content engine for Chicago talent.

The Avalon Regal Theater revival is centered on producing original live and digital content that creates real entertainment jobs and career pathways for live performers, writers, producers, camera operators, editors, stage managers, and other entertainment professionals from Chicago’s neighborhoods.

Through the Chicago Comedy Search and future Live at the Regal productions, we are creating:

• Paid performance opportunities for emerging artists
• Production crew jobs for local creatives
• On-camera/stage and behind-the-scenes training pipelines
• Digital content distribution showcasing Chicago talent
• A long-term platform for culturally rooted storytelling

Content will be developed and captured throughout the restoration process — documenting the journey, activating the space, and ensuring talent opportunities begin now.

Your attendance directly supports both the physical restoration of the Avalon Regal Theater and the development of this new content and employment pipeline for Chicago’s creative community.

At the same time, this event marks the official launch of the Chicago Comedy Search — our first series spotlighting emerging comedic voices and building the talent foundation for future Live at the Regal programming.
