Autumn Inspirations

Hailing from Lincoln, cellist Rebecca Hepplewhite is the soloist in Tchaikovsky`s brilliant Rococo Variations. The concert starts with Glinka’s folk-inspired fantasy Kamarinskaya and after the cello solo, Rachmaninoff’s beautiful Vocalise, a seemingly never-ending melody ends the first half of this concert. After the interval Lincoln Pro Musica Orchestra performs Tchaikovsky’s fourth orchestral suite. “Mozarteana”. Tchaikovsky’s love of Mozart is evident in this adaptation of four of his piano works. The final movement is a dazzling orchestral show piece derived from a set of variations Mozart wrote for the instrument.
