Ruth Stage returns to the Jersey Shore Arts Center with the full production of Edward Albee’s At Home at the Zoo, following September’s sold-out, critically hailed run of The Zoo Story. Now the story continues — darker, bolder, and more explosive — as marriage becomes a battlefield and civility dissolves under the weight of buried truth.
Three-time Emmy winner and star of The Young and the Restless Christian Jules LeBlanc stars opposite Broadway powerhouse Nancy Lemenager ( Chicago, Never Gonna Dance, Movin' Out), with Off-Broadway firebrand and Ruth Stage chairman Matt de Rogatis (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) completing the trio. Under the razor-sharp direction of Theo Devaney, Albee’s masterpiece is stripped to its nerves — every silence weaponized, every word a cut, every memory a threat.
Ruth Stage has become known for its daring, psychologically charged reimagining of modern classics. With At Home at the Zoo, the company goes even further into the darkness — presenting a marriage on the edge of implosion and a world where love and cruelty are indistinguishable. In the intimate confines of the Jersey Shore Arts Center, audiences will be placed uncomfortably close to the blast radius.
