The Assist Book Club is a space for women in business and the workplace to learn, share and connect through the writings and wisdoms of non-fiction authors.
It’s a book-club like no other. From business topics to personal development and wellbeing, we share then choose the most popular titles our members vote for and we’ve had some corkers so far!
Organised and run by Assist Women's Network, our book gatherings are sociable, meaningful and fun. And our popular ‘Meet the Author’ events are a real gem.
January 8th 2026 Acklam Hall, 6pm - 7.30pm
Join us for an evening of lively discussion, fresh perspectives and meaningful connections.
We’ll be reviewing our current read “The Gifts of Imperfection” by Brene Brown.
“For over a decade, Brené Brown has found a special place in our hearts as a gifted mapmaker and a fellow traveller. She is both a social scientist and a kitchen-table friend whom you can always count on to tell the truth, make you laugh, and, on occasion, cry with you. And what's now become a movement all started with The Gifts of Imperfection, which has sold more than two million copies in thirty-five different languages across the globe.”
Brene’s book is an invitation to join a wholehearted, grass-roots revolution (with a small ‘r’) that says: ‘‘My story matters because I matter’
We’ll be diving into the pages of the book, sharing insights and takeaways, and then casting votes to select our next book together. Whether you’ve devoured every chapter of this book, or just want to be inspired by the conversation, you’ll leave with new ideas and new connections.
And of course there’s still time for you to buy and read Brene’s book if you want to come along fully prepped!
Tickets are limited so get yours today and we’ll see you there!
PS Our last club get-together was unanimously awesome!!
