As Goes The South is a visually compelling documentary that reveals the character of a modern, Southern city fighting for progress in one of the nation’s most hostile state governments since Reconstruction. The film challenges outdated narratives by centering stories of resilience, creativity, and civic leadership emerging across Southern communities.
This Montgomery screening will conclude with a brief post-film talkback, providing space for reflection and conversation about how the themes of the film resonate locally and across the American South.
