A creative studio space for curious minds, free spirits, and young imaginations. Arty Farty: School is a unique series of workshops designed especially for home-educated children and those with additional learning needs - a space where every child is supported to create in a way that feels true to them.
Led by a professional artist, each session offers a hands-on, project-based journey into art-making. Children will explore inspiring materials, experiment with creative techniques, and learn how different artists and movements express ideas through colour, form, and storytelling.
Every workshop is gently adapted to meet the needs of each individual, celebrating different ways of thinking, learning, and creating. We focus not just on making art—but on confidence, curiosity, and the joy of creative discovery.
This Term, our home-educated group will be exploring Puppetry, learning how to design, build, and perform with puppets of their own creation. Through a blend of hands-on making, playful experimentation, and collaborative storytelling, children will explore how puppets communicate emotion, personality, and narrative.
Home-educated children often thrive when projects allow for flexibility, autonomy, and rich cross-curricular learning. In our sessions, we nurture that freedom by weaving together art, design, drama, literacy, and problem-solving as they explore everything from character development to puppet mechanics.
As they create and perform, they’ll build confidence, teamwork skills, fine motor abilities, and expressive language—all while discovering the magic of bringing their ideas to life. Each puppet and performance will be a joyful expression of who they are and the stories they want to tell.
