Join us for a creative, hands-on workshop exploring the hidden journeys of single-use plastics used in healthcare, such as syringes, gloves, masks and lab equipment. Using clean, real medical plastic objects, participants will discover what these items are made from, how much energy and water they use, how briefly they’re needed, and what happens to them after they’re thrown away.
Through storytelling and collaborative art-making, the objects become characters with a journey - from deep underground, to the hospital, and beyond. Participants will create large-scale artworks using the plastics themselves as mark-making tools, building a shared visual story together.
This workshop combines creativity, curiosity and conversation to explore environmental impact in an engaging, thoughtful and accessible way. Come along and meet the scientists and the artist collaborating to bring it all to life!
Suitable for children aged 7-12. This is a family friendly workshop and children must be accompanied by an adult.
