About the event:
Our Applicant Experience Days are designed to offer a snapshot of student life on our beautiful campus. You will speak with course leaders, current students and our friendly Student Services team while gaining an insight into every day life and teaching.
We will have a range of activities throughout the day, ranging from an accessible Puppetry Workshop and a chance to see our Popular Music students performing. It is up to you which activities you attend, but you are welcome to attend all on offer for the full experience.
From our Performing Arts Course Leader Gillian Hipp:
Join us for a dynamic, hands‑on introduction to puppetry led by Andrew Purvin, Artistic Director of The Fetch Theatre Company (https://www.thefetch.co.uk/). In this exciting practical workshop, you will explore the foundations of puppetry, discover how to bring objects and characters to life, and experiment with a range of creative techniques used to create performance.
This session offers a fun, immersive insight into how we work on the course. You’ll have the chance to work alongside and chat with current students about their experiences, meet and spend some time with Gillian, the Performing Arts degree Course Leader, collaborate with an industry professional, and get a real feel for the playful, imaginative world of puppetry in performance.
