On the day of her wedding, Antigone is faced with a choice: honor the gods or honor the law?

King Kreon has decreed no person may bury the traitor-prince Polyneikes but for Antigone, the knowledge her brother would lie unburied and defiled is a fate worse than death. In an act of defiance (or perfect piety, depending on who you speak to) Antigone buries her brother and sets off a chain reaction of tragedy not even the gods could predict.
