Get ready to learn the basics of spinning and have a fun, sweaty workout together!

Welcome to An Introduction to Spinning!

Ready to dive into the world of spinning? Join me for a hands-on session where you'll learn the basics and get the wheels turning. Perfect for beginners or anyone curious about this beautiful and intriguing craft.

This immersive, hands-on workshop introduces participants to the traditional craft of hand spinning using a spinning wheel. Designed for absolute beginners while remaining enriching for those already familiar with fiber arts, the session offers a supportive and relaxed environment to explore the full journey from fiber to yarn.

Participants will learn how a spinning wheel works, become familiar with its main components, and develop an understanding of fiber preparation, drafting, twist, and tension. Through guided demonstrations and individual practice time, students will gain practical experience spinning their own yarn, supported by clear visual references and one-to-one guidance where needed.

The workshop places equal emphasis on skill-building and enjoyment, encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and confidence. Common beginner challenges are addressed openly, helping demystify the process and reassure participants that variation and imperfection are part of learning. By the end of the session, attendees will leave with a foundational understanding of hand spinning, a small sample of yarn they have created themselves, and inspiration to continue exploring this timeless craft.

No prior experience is required, and all materials and equipment are provided unless otherwise stated.
