An Evening with Val McDermid & Elly Griffiths

The two bestselling crime writers will be discussing their latest books.

VAL MCDERMID:

Val McDermid has sold over 19 million books across the globe. Her multi-award-winning series and standalone novels have been adapted for TV and radio, most notably the Wire in the Blood series featuring clinical psychologist Dr Tony Hill and DCI Carol Jordan. The Karen Pirie novels have now been adapted for a major ITV series.

Silent Bones is the eighth novel in the Karen Pirie series. She will also be talking about her charming new book, Winter: an adventure through the season, from the frosty streets of Edinburgh to the windblown Scottish coast, from Bonfire Night and Christmas to Burns Night and Up Helly.It's a warm hug of a book.

ELLY GRIFFITHS:

Elly Griffiths (real name is Domenica de Rosa) is author of the Dr Ruth Galloway books, the Brighton Mysteries and four standalone titles featuring DI Harbinder Kaur. Her new series, about time-travelling detective Ali Dawson, started in 2025 with The Frozen People. Killing Time, the second book in that series, is published on 12th February.
