An Evening with Emily Hauser

We are delighted to welcome Emily Hauser, bestselling author and award‑winning classicist, for an evening exploring her latest book, Mythica.

In Mythica, Emily Hauser brings ancient Greek myth vividly to life, bringing to life stories of women who have too often been sidelined or misunderstood. From goddesses and heroines to queens and mortals, Mythica offers fresh perspectives on timeless stories and asks what these myths can still tell us today.

During the event, Emily will talk about the inspiration behind the book, her research, and why myth remains such a powerful storytelling tradition. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, giving audience members the chance to ask questions.

This event is ideal for readers interested in mythology, history, feminist retellings, and classical literature.

About the Author:

Emily Hauser is a classical scholar and author specialising in ancient Greek history and myth. She is the author of the acclaimed novel For the Most Beautiful and has contributed to numerous publications and broadcasts on the ancient world. Emily is known for her accessible, engaging approach to classical subjects and her focus on women’s voices in mythology.

• The event runs from 6.30pm to 7.30pm
• The event is suitable for adults and young people aged 16+
• Please purchase a ticket for each person attending.
• There is a charge of £5 per ticket
• Booking is essential, so be quick to avoid disappointment
• Refreshments will be available
• Please arrive 10 minutes early
• Books will be available to purchase on the day, courtesy of Waterstones, Staines. Emily will be happy to sign copies at the end of the event.
