You’re invited to a special screening of three Academy-qualified Indigenous short films at The Autry Museum — featuring filmmakers Loren Waters (Tiger), Joey Clift (Pow!), and Eric Michael Hernandez (Courage). The evening will include a moderated discussion led by Bird Runningwater.
Pow! - FYC Best Animated Short Film - POW! follows a young Native American kid scrambling to charge his video game console at a Coastal Salish intertirbal powwow.
Courage - FYC Best Live Action Short Film - Inspired by true events, COURAGE is the story of a young Native American boy struggling with self-confidence and societal expectations, until his uncle introduces him to the art of Hoop Dance. Through this tradition, he finds strength, resilience, and the courage to embrace his heritage.
Tiger - FYC Best Documentary Short Film - “Tiger” highlights an Indigenous, award-winning, internationally acclaimed artist and elder, Dana Tiger, her family, and the resurgence of the iconic Tiger t-shirt company.
Food is included in your ticket price, with a cash bar available throughout the evening.
All ages are welcome — this is a fun and exciting community celebration of storytelling, culture, and creativity.
