About The Book
The Opposite of Heartbreak is a poetic love letter to Black queer men. Through lush, intimate poems, Woods creates a world where desire, tenderness, sensuality, and connection are not rare or conditional, but abundant and inevitale. The book is not a promise of romance, but an offering: a reminder that belief itself can soften the present, even when love has yet to arrive.

Lonnie Woods III (he/him) is a poet, visual artist, digital creator, educator, and arts administrator based in New York City whose work lives at the intersection of identity, self-worth, and creative expression.
