The American Legion Post 1 in Raleigh NC is hosting an fine arts festival open to ALL veteran artists from North Carolina.

This event is free to the general public. Artist must register by filling out the artist information form and purchasing a ticket to reserve a space.

Criteria and Rules for Entrants

1. This art festival is open to ALL veteran artists (Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserves) from North Carolina. Note: this is NOT the American Legion National VA Art Contest.

2. All art forms including paintings, drawings, sculpture, pottery, mixed media, photography, printed media, fabric, and jewelry can be displayed.

3. Artists will send photo samples of their work or provide a web page for Post 1 to review their work. Sample photos may be sent to raleighalpost1@outlook.com

4. All entries must be original work of the artist. Art should be in good taste and cannot nudity, violence, political activism, or substance abuse

5. All work must be complete. No unfinished work. Oil paintings must be dry. Paintings should be framed or edges of canvas.

6. Post 1 will provide tables for artists to display small paintings, photographs, drawing, pottery, and sculptures. Artists will provide their own display easels for paintings, photographs and drawings.

7. Artists may sell their work. Sales will be direct between the buyer and seller. Post 1 will not handle money from sale of artwork.

8. Due to space limitations artists will be limited on what they may exhibit. Limit the number of items that can be safely displayed in a 10’x10’ space.

A. Small items (pottery, small paintings, photos and drawings) – may be displayed on a 70”x30” table provided by Post 1.

B. Larger items placed on floor easels such as paintings, photography, and drawings:

i. Sized 14”x18” to 16”x20” – Limit 5.

ii. Any artwork over 16”x20” – Limit 3

C. Larger sculptures and pottery displayed on the floor limit to 4.

D. Artists may have both a table and floor display.

9. Do not hang items on the walls.

10. Artists will be required to unpack and set their own exhibit and take down and pack their own artwork when done.
