This session introduces Indian art as a contemplative practice, not just a visual tradition.
It begins with a short illustrated talk on classical Indian principles of proportion and rhythm, followed by a slow, hands-on drawing workshop inspired by Ajanta cave ceiling motifs.
These motifs—lotus forms, foliage, and rhythmic patterns—were created to steady the eye, slow perception, and support inner stillness.
This is not a copying exercise, but a guided, reflective drawing process.
No prior drawing experience is required.
All materials are provided.
In a world of constant digital distraction, this session offers a rare chance to:
Art students, practitioners, educators, researchers, and anyone seeking a deeper, reflective engagement with Indian art and contemplative practices.
