"AI in Elections" Sease Award Speaker Panel

Date and Time: February 23, 2026 from 5PM to 6PM

Location: Cartwright Hall, James Albert Classroom (RM 213)

Philosophy. Politics. Law.
Artificial intelligence in American elections is raising important questions about our society and civic life. Join three distinguished speakers who will tackle AI's real-life impact in past and future elections, followed by free refreshments. This event is free and open to the general public.

Speakers:
- Jennifer McCrickerd, PhD is a professor in philosophy who has taught courses in ethics and political philosophy, including on AI and democracy.
- Tony Vargas, a Presidential Leadership Scholar and Civil Society Fellow who has promoted civic discourse and bipartisanship as both a candidate and twice elected Nebraska State Senator.
- Robert L. Palmer is an attorney at Nyemaster Good, P.C. in the Government Affairs practice who works with businesses and associations on high-stakes public issues at the intersection of law, policy, and economic growth. An early adopter of AI, Robert has advocated for the use of AI by governmental entities to help promote civility locally and nationwide.

This event is made possible by a Sease Award, launched by McKee, Voorhees & Sease PLC and named for Edmund J. Sease (LA'64, LW'67), to promote the learning and practice of intellectual law.
