Adult Safeguarding Level 2 Onsite Training

Purpose: To equip professionals and volunteers who work directly with vulnerable adults with the knowledge and skills to identify, respond to, and prevent abuse or neglect.

• What safeguarding adults means and why it's essential.
• Legal duties under the Care Act 2014 and other UK legislation.

Recognising Abuse:

• Types of abuse (physical, emotional, financial, neglect, etc.).
• Risk factors and signs of abuse or neglect.
• Who may be more vulnerable to harm.

Safeguarding Principles: The six key principles: Empowerment, Prevention, Proportionality, Protection, Partnership, and Accountability.

Responding to Concerns:

• How to report suspected abuse.
• The role of whistleblowing.
• Supporting safeguarding enquiries.

Maintaining Dignity and Respect:

• Promoting person-centred care.
• Balancing safety with individual rights and choices.

Practical Application:

• Real-life scenarios and case studies.
• How to act confidently and responsibly in safeguarding situations.
