Welcome to Act It Out and Put It In The Light, Girl - created by SamuRaj and in collaboration with Hannah Brennan (Act On Tap). A women centred (but not just for women) experience celebrating multifaceted creativity. Step inside and be transported into another world of art, music, theatre and connection.

Whether you're a woman in the arts, media, law, tech or beyond — this space is yours. Building a supportive community where we can be ourselves, lift each other up and grow together through authentic collaboration and creative expression. Supportive men are welcome — come with openness, respect and love.

💬 Be Part of the Art

You’re invited not only to observe, but to participate — leave a note, respond with a sketch or add to our evolving collective installation reflecting on two questions: What does 'stepping into the light' mean to you? What does 'acting it out' mean to you?

Segment 1: Into the Light, The Exhibition

Step into a transformative space where art, fashion, photography and genre bending sounds converge. ‘Into the Light – The Exhibition’ invites you to explore the depths of both female and male expression through multiple mediums — each piece curated to reflect resilience, softness, joy, vulnerability, rebellion, grief and everything in between.

From intimate photographic portraits, to sculptures, to larger-scale installations, each piece offers a personal lens into the artist’s world. Expect a raw, honest and beautifully curated visual journey from emerging and established London based artists.

The fashion installation features independent brands fusing fashion, art and sneaker culture. Rooted in streetwear and sustainability, their pieces reimagine garments through upcycling, hand-crafted detail and bold, one-of-a-kind designs. Each item carries attitude, individuality and a spirit of rebellion — turning everyday fashion into unapologetic wearable art.

This isn’t just an exhibition; it’s an experience that blends visual storytelling, fashion and sound.

Segment 2: Into the Light, The Showcase

An innovative fusion of music and theatre. Each female artist performs three original songs. In response, playwrights have crafted scenes inspired by their lyrics, then brought to life by actors in an intimate stage setting. A live dialogue between sound and story; and all curated by visionary women.

There will be two 15 minute breaks, each being an opportunity to discuss and reflect what we have heard and entere witnessed.

Finally, Segment 3: Into the Light, The After Parry

Yes, you read that right! Let loose with a dynamic DJ lineup: P Bully, Satra Sia and zest tbh, keeping the energy alive and the vibrations high. Let’s shake a leg (or shake nyash 😉) like no one’s watching and celebrate freedom, rhythm and connection.

A time to network, converse and be merry.

This event has been carefully curated to shine a spotlight on an eclectic mix of independent artists - both emerging and established - and to cultivate an environment where people from all walks of life can connect in a safe and loving space.

Hosted at The Pubb in Dalston, a Black-owned establishment known for its unique interior and community spirit.

Oh, and did I mention there'll be FOOD!? Think jerk salmon, jerk chicken, priso plantain, rice etc. Mmm, finger licking good. ;)

An event by women, for women. Supportive individuals always welcome.

Exhibition and Showcase lineup announced over the next week. Keep your eyes peeled!
