Acrylic Painting Techniques for Beginners

Learn about acrylic painting in this short practical & project based course. Offered by Award Winning local artist and experienced tutor Shaun MacDonald. Fully accessible for those just taking up painting and also to those wishing to learn more about this most versatile of painting mediums.

Basic materials will be provided, participants will be expected to bring their own equipment and some additional materials, a short list of appropriate (affordable) quality items and everything that will be needed will be provided ahead of classes starting. Classes will be structured around a project that is designed to introduce the mediums specific attributes and processes, this will provide you with a solid grounding from which to further explore, experiment and develop your own approach. Techniques, tips and tricks will be fully explained, demonstrated and wherever appropriate contextualised with examples of work made by key artists who work work in acrylics.
