Accounting After School Club - Taunton College

Do you want to know how major companies manage—or sometimes mismanage—billions? Or how investigators actually "follow the money"?

This club will enable you to learn about the basics of accounting and gain an understanding of the fundamental concepts used within this profession.

You will be able to develop your skills relevant to this type of work such as problem solving, critical thinking, business knowledge, and discussion / communication abilities.

The club may include the following topic areas:

• Introduction to accounting personnel and associated careers
• Anaylsis of ethical and legal problems in an accounting context
• Research and project management
• Auditor and forensic accounting cases
• Consideration of high-profile / real-life accounting cases
• Interactive trivia quizzes and games.

Please note: this is a series of six workshops. You are expected to attend each session, as you will progress your skills week-by-week.
