Join us for a winter wildfowl walk on the Loughor estuary with ornithologist Russell Evans

Winter is the best time for watching visiting wildfowl so we are very grateful to Russell, who is events organiser for the RSPB local group, for kindly leading this walk. He says we may see spoonbills, grey plover, wigeon, pintail and Brent geese!

We will almost certainly spot curlew, little and great egrets, shelducks and a variety of gulls but if anything very unusual decides to fly in, you can be sure that Russell will spot it!

The walk will start from the car park at Bynea, go to the coast path and take two hours. The terrain will be moderately difficult so wear suitably grippy footwear, bring binoculars and cameras and please dress for the weather on the day. If you need refreshments en route, please bring them with you. No dogs except assistance dogs on short leads.

Meet at the pay and display car park (What3Words: ///moderated.wager.surprised ) ready for the walk to start promptly at 9.30am. If you prefer to pay on the MI parking app, the car park number is 715040.

We look forward to seeing you - and good numbers of winter wildfowl!

We request a donation of at least £1 per adult on the day please to help cover group expenses. Under 18's are free of charge and must be accompanied by an adult.
