Introduction and Intentions: I may start with a brief introduction, setting an intention or theme for the class.
Breathing Techniques (Pranayama): Breathing exercises to help focus the mind, calm the nervous system, and improve energy flow.
Warm-up: Gentle stretches or movements to prepare the body for deeper postures and help prevent injury.
Sun Salutation (classic): A sequence of yoga poses interconnected combining movement and breath
Core Work: Exercises and movements that target the muscles, lower back and pelvis to be strengthened to prevent injuries while practicing the asanas
Alignment Cues: Instructions on proper body alignment to prevent injury and deepen the benefits of each pose.
Mindfulness and Focus: Emphasis on being present in the moment, often incorporating mindfulness and meditation practices.
Flow or Sequence: The class includes a flowing series of poses and hold individual poses for longer periods. These include standing Asanas, Forward bend Asanas, Backward Bend Asanas and Inversions.
Adjustments/Assists: I offer hands-on adjustments (if comfortable) to help you achieve proper alignment.
Cool-down and Relaxation: The class ends with a cool-down of gentle stretches and a final relaxation pose (Savasana) to integrate the benefits of the practice. In addition, I do a Sound Bath with Tibetan bowls and Chimes
Reflection or Closing: I may end with a short meditation or reflection, and I may invite you to set an intention for the rest of your day or week.
