Christopher Berry teaches how lighting can convey emotion and tell stories in this hands-on, in-person workshop!

Lighting as an Emotional and Narrative Tool

Christopher Berry guides participants through a FREE workshop. The art of using light as an emotional and narrative tool—not just a technical one. A great portrait begins with understanding people, connecting with them, and lighting them in a way that reveals their story. Through engaging guided exercises and live demonstrations, students explore how to connect with their subjects, respond authentically to who they are, and create a cohesive set of 3–5 images that feel intentional, expressive, and alive.

Fujifilm Photographer Christopher Berry is a commercial portrait photographer based in Southern Arizona. For over a decade, he has used Fujifilm cameras to create images across creative, documentary, and corporate settings. ?He enjoys working with natural light but also embraces the versatility?of off-camera and constant lighting to expand creative possibilities.
