Black In Biomed is a network of like-minded individuals seeking to raise aspirations and
change the narrative of Black students in Biomedical Science
Our Vision:

- Encourage young Black Biomedical Scientists to see themselves thriving in their careers within research/academia/industry
- Equip young Black Biomedical Scientists with the necessary skills and professional experiences to navigate tough spaces and prepare them for a successful career within Biomedical Science
- Empower the next generation of young Black Biomedical Scientists to not be intimidated about pursuing a career within Biomedical Science. They need to know that a career in Biomedical Science is for them if that’s what they want.
The day will consist of:
- Registration and Lunch
- Welcome speech by Founder
- Ice breaker
- Keynote speech by Dr. Donald Palmer
- Break
- Panel discussion - ‘Reframing the picture’
- Speed mentoring workshop
- Networking
