Program
We will explore the fundamental building blocks of photography, including:
Day 1 - 8th March 2026 - 2pm to 5pm – Foundations of Photography
Theme: Seeing Light & Controlling the Camera
Introduction to light and its effects on mood and realism. Practical exploration of the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, ISO) and basic composition principles like framing, balance, and the rule of thirds. Hands-on exercises in manual mode.
Day 2 - 15th March 2026 - 2pm to 5pm – Composition, Visual Storytelling & Lens Choice
Theme: Learning to See Like a Photographer
Focus on visual awareness, composition, and creative use of negative space, patterns, and symmetry. Introduction to lens choices and their impact on perspective and storytelling. Guided photo walks and themed assignments with group review.
Day 3 – 22nd March 2026 - 2pm to 5pm - Portraits, Motion & Creative Control
Theme: Capturing People and Movement
Techniques for portraits, lighting, posing, and communication. Motion photography, including freezing action, motion blur, and panning. Practical exercises followed by group critique on expression, timing, and technique.
Day 4 – 29th March 2026 - 2pm to 5pm - Editing, Style & Final Project
Theme: Developing Your Photographic Voice
Basics of photo editing: exposure, contrast, color correction, and composition. Exploration of personal style and visual consistency. Final photo series project with group critique and individual feedback.
Further Information
This workshop is highly interactive – you’re encouraged to bring your own camera (DSLR, mirrorless, or advanced compact), a notepad to take notes, as well as your questions, and so you can learn how to use your equipment effectively. Our focus is not just on theory, but on practice: you’ll get to apply what you learn in real time, with expert guidance every step of the way.
