14/48 Hollywood: The World's Quickest Theater Festival

Join us for one of Hollywood’s most exciting nights of live theater! 14/48 brings together artists from across Los Angeles to collaborate and create 14 brand-new plays in just 48 hours. It’s fast, fearless, and electric.

Each night features 7 world premiere 10-minute plays. Come for one night—or both—for completely different shows.

How it works:
On Thursday night, we gather 7 writers, 7 directors, 25+ actors, and a team of designers and musicians. A random theme, suggested anonymously by past 14/48 participants, is drawn to complete the sentence:
“I would like to see 7 plays about ___.”

Writers have overnight to create their plays. By Friday morning, scripts are submitted, and directors randomly draw both a play and their cast. Rehearsals begin immediately. We rehearse, design, build, panic, regroup—and by 7:30pm, we present seven world premiere plays.

Then we do it all over again on Saturday with an entirely new set of plays. Two nights. Fourteen premieres. Forty-eight hours.

Come early and stay after to enjoy a drink at The Broadwater Plunge, the bar adjacent to the theatre (open 5pm–2am).
