72-Hour Film Challenge: Create a short film in Sussex & Kent in 72 hours as part of the 10th Eastbourne International Film Festival!

🎬 10th Eastbourne International Film Festival — 72 Hour Film Challenge

72 hours. One idea. One film.

Write it. Shoot it. Edit it. Deliver it — all within three days and all filmed locally in Sussex & Kent. This is your chance to test your creativity, teamwork, and filmmaking instincts under real festival pressure. All films will be screened as part of the 10th Eastbourne International Film Festival.

The Challenge
Create a short film from scratch in just 72 hours. From concept to final cut, everything must be completed within the time limit. No preparation, no shortcuts — just pure filmmaking.

How It Works

  • Entry: £10 per film
  • Start: Friday 1st May, 12:00 AM
  • Receive your challenge brief and mandatory elements to begin your 72-hour film project.
  • Sunday 3rd May, 11:59 PM – Deadline to submit,
  • Upload your completed film via WeTransfer
  • E-mail the download link to info@crossingthescreen.com

The Reward
Selected films will be screened as part of the Eastbourne International Film Festival programme on Monday 4th May 18.00 pm , at The Cavendish Hotel, with recognition and awards consideration for the winning entry and £ 50.00 cash prize for the winner.

The Rules

  • Film must be shot locally within Sussex & Kent area
  • Mandatory elements must be included
  • Maximum runtime: 5 minutes
  • 72 hours from start to finish
  • Late submissions cannot be accepted
  • Must include a shot clearly showing the date and time to confirm it was filmed during the 72-hour period

No extensions. No second chances. Just filmmaking under pressure.
